What is MRI Platform X (PMX)?
MRI Platform X is the modern name for MRI Property Management X (PMX) — MRI Software's flagship property management and accounting platform. Announced in March 2024 as a ground-up redesign, Platform X represents the result of a multi-year initiative to rethink critical property management functions and workflows for usability, efficiency, and intelligence.
The current major version is PMX X.7. Headline enhancements include enhanced MRI Go search across the platform, configurable grids for all tables including reorder, filter, group, save views, refined import/export functionality for bulk operations, a modernized technology stack, and RPA-ready architecture that enables native automation across modules.
Platform X vs. PMX vs. legacy MRI — the same thing?
Platform X and PMX are the same product. MRI uses Property Management X (PMX) as the formal product name and Platform X as the brand name for the modernized experience. Documentation and consultants use both terms interchangeably. Legacy MRI refers to the older Windows-based and self-hosted MRI environments that PMX replaces — clients running these versions face an upgrade decision to Platform X.7.
Who uses MRI Platform X?
Platform X is built for institutional real estate operators — REITs, global investment managers, large commercial agents like JLL and Cushman & Wakefield, multifamily operators, affordable housing portfolios, and mixed-use property managers. It is purpose-built for real estate accounting including multi-entity, multi-currency, percentage rent, CAM recoveries, IFRS 16, ASC 842 rather than adapted from general-purpose ERP.
What does an MRI Platform X engagement actually involve?
An MRI Platform X engagement covers seven phases: discovery, design, build, data migration, testing, go-live, and hypercare. Most implementations take four to nine months end to end depending on portfolio complexity, the number of modules deployed, integration count, and whether the engagement is a net-new PMX deployment or a legacy MRI upgrade.

Solution Design
5–6 WeeksDesign the target Platform X configuration: chart of accounts, multi-entity / multi-currency setup, security model, workflow design, and integration architecture. Custom report specifications, Logic Builder workflow specifications, Page Builder screen specifications, and integration interface contracts all signed off before configuration begins.
Build & Configuration
6–12 WeeksConfigure MRI PMX modules — Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Property Management, Lease Management, Commercial Management, Residential Management, and Investment Management where in scope. Develop custom reports, Logic Builder workflows, configure Page Builder screens, and stand up integrations.
Data Migration

Transform to the MRI Platform X data model with field-level mapping documentation. Validate via reconciliation passes against source-system control totals, balance sheets, and key portfolio metrics.
